Hey everyone!

Its been awhile since I've been on here! The BIG day will be here before we know it! There are a couple of important updates I want to share:

• Were thinking of changing the BIG day to May 12, 2012! The only reason we haven't permanently set it is because we still need to schedule with the church so if the church is available we will permanently set it and send out save the dates :) Were going to look for churches this weekend so hopefully we'll know the date really soon!
• We have both decided to change the wedding reception venue from my house to a local hotel. So thats going to be a big change! So far we are looking into the Grand Hyatt San Antonio and the Hilton Palacio del Rio downtown by the riverwalk. They are both gorgeous venues and we hope to coordinate with a wedding planner soon so we can permanently set the venue. 

So as you can see we still have some ways to go but nevertheless we're so excited!

Hey guys!
So a couple of days ago we sat down and did a rough draft of our guest list.
Needless to say...its HUGE!!!
Lots of family on both sides, including kids and friends
We are definitely banking on a 200+ wedding...eek!
So based on this number Juan and I are going to have to make an important decision:

• Where to have the reception?! (hotel/resort ballroom or tent reception in my backyard) pricing is probably about the same for both so its a matter of accommodating our guests as well as keeping up with our desired theme. Juan and I are planning to visit a few hotels/resorts these upcoming weeks to price them as well as search for some nice churches. We are definitely going to have a traditional church ceremony before the reception so if we decide to have the reception at a hotel/resort ballroom it would have to be fairly close to the church.

Advantage of having a hotel/resort reception: FREE WEDDING PLANNER!!!

Ahhhh I just can't wait for everything to come together...so excited!!!

Churches?

Hey everyone!
So we've been thinking and we want to get married in an actual Catholic church then have an outdoor reception here at my house.
I've been looking into really nice churches downtown and around SA. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations please let us know! :)

wooooooooo we're getting married!!!

So first off...I'm sooooo happy and excited that Juan and I are going to share our lives together as a married couple. I can't wait till our wedding!!! I want everyone to enjoy and most of all have fun on that special day :) Soooo many things to do!!!

So quick updates:

• I already have a wedding checklist app on my iphone to keep me organized. Soooo useful! I know what I have to do within 9 months, 6 months etc. till the wedding. 
• We have somewhat decided on a date of May 5, 2012 (Cinco de Mayo and our anniversary) so try to keep that day open :)
• Upon watching many hours of David Tutera and Platinum Weddings, I have a somewhat idea of reception theme and colors. I love the idea and combination of gold and turquoise. I also want some hints of peacock feathers :) So kinda like this:

• I also have been looking into bridesmaids and of course my wedding gown online. I'm thinking turquoise color dresses for bridesmaids...let me know what ya'll think. I will keep searching for some nice ones...I promise not to pick ugly ones hehe I've also fallen absolutely in LOVE with a couple of wedding gowns online already....can't wait to try them on!!! Shhhh...its a surprise :)
